Program Goals in 2004
In 2004, KIND will continue to build on its 2003 programs, increasing their impact in Nigeria and increasing the support being provided to women as they work to build a strong democracy at community and national levels. Specific goals are to:
A. Strengthen Leadership Program
i. Conduct second year of the Young Women's Leadership Program with 20 new participants
who will be trained in expanded curriculum
(that includes financial management training
and seminar on Women's Rights as defined
by Christianity and Islam)
ii. Standardize YWL curriculum in preparation
for expansion of program to universities and
high schools across Nigeria in 2005
B. Strengthen Outreach
i. Expand community and network of support for women through Media
and Outreach efforts.
ii. Publish and disseminate book on
Kudirat Abiola
C. Strengthen Interlink
i. Foster public-private partnerships to support
youth employment activities that will be
showcased in Mexico during the Youth
Employment Global Summit.
ii. Organize seminars to educate the NGOs
and labor unions in the Labor and Civil
Society Coalition about deregulation to
build civil society's' capacity to engage with
the government on developing a coherent
petroleum policy for Nigeria
