Leadership Program

Young Women's Leadership Program (YWL)

YWL
KIND's YWL Program, which aims to groom the next generation of Nigeria's women leaders, brings together 20 young women of achievement in a year-long series of three intensive professional and personal development sessions. The three sessions of the inaugural program were held in Lagos, Calabar, and Abuja in 2002 & 2003.

YWL
Through seminars and workshops offered by expert facilitators from international organizations like UNIFEM, leadership companies like the Franklin Covey Company in Nigeria, and rights organizations, the young women were able to explore the complexities of issues facing them as they live, work and lead in their families, organizations and communities. The young women participants also had the opportunity to listen to and learn from established women leaders like Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili (the Special Adviser to Nigeria's President on Budget Matters) and Mrs Dayo Benjamins-Laniyi, a rising star in the entertainment business.

YWL
As this was the first year of the program, the inaugural class were essential co-creators in producing, revising, and adapting the curriculum. 14 of the 20 participants graduated and are now members of the YWL Network.
