KIND This Week

In the week of Monday 23rd to Friday 27th March, KIND organized a Town Hall meeting for the Election Observers under the Women Situation Room, of which KIND was the Lagos secretariat. The Town Hall meeting was an opportunity for observers and other participants to mingle and dissect paramount issues concerning the electoral process in Nigeria. Although the Women Situation Rooms are observing the election with a gender lens, the Town Hall meeting was an opportunity to sample opinion from all on the future of women in politics and the current state of progress in fostering gender equality in governance.

The State Coordinator of Women Situation Room and other observers also attended the Stakeholders Forum of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Lagos State which was held at University of Lagos, Akoka. The Stakeholders Forum had other observers from other organizations, both locally and internationally.

The Purple Brand of the Young Voices for Change Program was launched this week at the Lagos State Polytechnics, Ikorodu. The Purple Brand which is set to become an independent successor of the YV4C training which aims to improve the lifestyle of young people in the country. The launch which took place at the Student Union Government building was hosted by the Purple Brand Ambassadors on Lagos State Polytechnic.
